Life has a way of moving us in unexpected directions. For those who have been with me from the start, you’ve seen how my journey has shifted. I didn’t make a conscious decision to step away from blogging. It just happened. The demands of photography and birth work grew and I let myself follow where life was pulling me. Now, after time spent focused on those areas, I feel ready to return. Not because I have it all figured out, but because I’m embracing change and the flow of life.
Two years ago, I needed to set aside certain things to focus on others. Photography, birth work, and my family needed my energy. Stepping back wasn’t a loss. It was a realignment. A chance to look at what matters and make decisions based on what was in front of me. Sometimes life asks us to pause and focus on the immediate. It’s not always about balance but about being present where you’re needed. Life never moves in a straight line. It changes, shifts, and offers us clarity when we step back and take a breath.
It’s easy to overlook the value in everyday moments, especially when life feels busy. But I’ve learned that those simple tasks, like tidying up after my daughter, are filled with meaning. They ground me in the present. They remind me of the things I once dreamed of and how grateful I am to be here now. It’s in these small moments that we’re able to reconnect with what’s most important, even when everything feels overwhelming.
I’m not exactly picking up where I left off. The blog I wrote then is different from the one I’m writing now. The experiences that shaped me over these past years have shifted my perspective. Life has changed, and so have I. This isn’t about starting over. This is about continuing in a new direction with a deeper understanding of what matters. For those who have been here from the beginning, and for those just joining, I’m excited to continue this journey with you. Life moves forward, and we grow with it. We’re embracing change together.
We don’t need to know what’s next. We just need to keep moving, trusting that each step takes us closer to where we’re meant to be.

I’m currently in a period of realignment myself. Moving three times in one year has made it difficult to develop a “following” for birth work, photography, and yoga. So I’m choosing to use this slower period to embrace motherhood in a way that hasn’t really been available to me before, thanks to military and innumerable dets/deployments. We’re settled in our forever home, so it’s a lovely time for me to be able to mother like never before. Birth work will come when it’s supposed to; my babies come to me every day <3
Life isn’t meant to always stay in one place. Sometimes motherhood is right where we need to be. Birth work in general is an ebb and flow for everyone involved! So happy you’re taking the journey as it comes!!
