We all go through seasons when life feels like it’s on pause.
When you’re ready for what’s next, but it hasn’t quite arrived.
Maybe you’re trying to trust the timing during pregnancy.
Or maybe you’re waiting for clarity after a big change.
Waiting for healing.
Waiting for a sign.
The ache of “not yet” is quiet, but heavy.
And the longer it lasts, the more we question if we’re doing something wrong.
I’ve been living in this space lately.
I’m in the early third trimester of pregnancy. Far enough along to feel the shift, but still with time ahead. There’s this slow stretch between preparation and arrival, where everything feels both near and far.
I catch myself wanting to predict when things will begin, wondering how it will all unfold. But this isn’t a season that responds to planning.
And maybe that’s exactly the invitation; to stop trying to manage the unknown and begin trusting the timing instead.
Whether you’re trusting the timing during pregnancy or holding space for something else to unfold, there’s a deeper truth here:
Not everything can be scheduled.
We prepare, we hope, we count the days. But becoming – whether it’s birth, healing, or finding a version of yourself again – rarely follows a straight line.
There’s wisdom in the waiting, even when it feels like nothing is happening.
It’s teaching me that stillness is not stagnation.
That softening is not weakness.
That trusting the timing isn’t about giving up, it’s about letting go of what was never mine to control.
I’ve learned that peace doesn’t come from knowing what’s next. It comes from being present with what’s here.
Maybe you’re not pregnant.
Maybe you’re waiting for a decision, a diagnosis, a direction.
Maybe you’re quietly holding out hope for something to shift.
Wherever you are, I hope this meets you gently:
You’re not behind.
You’re not doing it wrong.
You’re simply in the in-between, and the in-between is a place of its own.
Letting go of the timeline doesn’t mean losing hope.
It means learning to trust the timing of things beyond your reach.
We can soften into uncertainty.
We can stop gripping the calendar so tightly.
We can make space for the story to unfold the way it’s meant to, not just the way we planned.
And when it begins, whatever it is for you, you’ll know.
You’ll feel it.
And you’ll meet it with the kind of readiness that only waiting can create.
